Blue Springs Baptist Church is located in Somerville in the Florette Community of Morgan County, Alabama. Founded in 1846, we have a rich history and heritage, but we believe our best days lie ahead as we look to our Savior to guide our future and as we reach out to our community and beyond.

We are a Southern Baptist church and prescribe to the basic beliefs and doctrines found in the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

Blue Springs Baptist Church voluntarily cooperates with and supports the work of The Southern Baptist Convention in order to further our ministry and missions impact around the world. We channel a percentage of our tithes, offerings, and resources
through The Cooperative Program. To this end, we cooperatively participate with the following organizations:
The Morgan Baptist Association is a fellowship of 70 churches and pastors who seek to impact
Morgan County and beyond for Jesus Christ.
The Alabama Baptist State Convention is comprised of 3095 
churches, 74 Church Plants, 19 Missions, and 6 Sattelites with about 1 million members (as of 2/5/2024). They are focused on meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the people of Alabama and beyond.
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) ®, founded in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, is the largest Protestant evangelical denomination in the World with over 13.2 million members (as of 2023) who worship in more than 47,198 churches in the United States. Southern Baptists sponsor over 6,300 missionaries and chaplains serving the United States and its territories, Canada, and the Caribbean, as well as supporting the work of 3,532 internationoal missionaries and their families around the world (2023) in 185 nations, and numerous colleges and seminaries.
The term “Southern Baptist Convention” refers to both the convention and its annual meeting. Working through nearly 1200 local associations and 41 state conventions, Southern Baptists share a common bond of basic Biblical beliefs and a commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world.
One becomes a Southern Baptist by uniting with a Southern Baptist church – one in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist enterprise of reaching the world for Christ. Typically church membership is a matter of receiving Jesus as your Savior and Lord and experiencing believer’s baptism by immersion.
